What is Vertical Take-Off (VTO) Reading?
VTO Reading supports structured literacy with guided read-aloud practice. VTO listens, tracks accuracy and fluency, and gives helpful feedback, building confidence and automaticity at home, in school, or in therapy. Illuminations partners with VTO to provide evidence-based, data-informed practice.

The Morphology Kit® Latin Progression is an organized approach that follows an intentional sequence through the most common, high-utility Latin base elements and affixes in the English language.
With over 500 slides of ready-to-use lessons and activities, each Set contains two Packs of five Morpheme Lessons. Each Morpheme Lesson, which focuses on a single Latin morpheme, such as the base element, "POSE," has two sections: a Core Lesson and Activities.

Through interactive lessons, practice activities, and therapist-guided instruction, Lexercise allows us to deliver high-quality dyslexia therapy both in person and online while following the principles of Structured Literacy.

Lexercise is a structured literacy platform used by Illuminations to support both individual students and school systems with evidence-based reading, spelling, and writing instruction grounded in the Science of Reading. Through interactive lessons, built-in progress monitoring, and therapist-guided or teacher-led instruction, Lexercise allows schools to provide high-quality intervention using their existing staff while giving students access to proven Structured Literacy support in person or online.
Free Online Dyslexia Screener
Illuminations offers access to the Lexercise free online dyslexia screener, a quick 5–10 minute assessment designed to identify possible signs of reading difficulty, dyslexia risk, and other literacy concerns. This science-based screening tool helps parents, teachers, and schools determine whether a student may need further evaluation or structured literacy intervention, and results are available immediately after completion.
Affordable Pricing
Our Lexercise therapy program is designed to provide intensive, high-quality structured literacy instruction at a cost families can manage. The full price is $495 per month and includes five days per week of therapy, with one live (synchronous) session with a therapist and four additional asynchronous sessions completed through the Lexercise online platform, allowing students to receive daily intervention without the cost of daily one-on-one therapy.
As with all Illuminations services, families may apply for our sliding scale scholarship program. Most families with a household income below $6,500 per month qualify for tuition assistance, which can significantly reduce the monthly cost while ensuring every child has access to evidence-based dyslexia therapy.
Interactive Learning
Lexercise combines live therapist instruction with engaging, interactive online practice to give students daily structured literacy instruction that builds real reading and spelling skills. Lessons include guided teaching, digital practice activities, review exercises, and progress monitoring, allowing students to receive consistent, high-quality intervention both during therapy sessions and at home.
Reading & Spelling Inventory
The Reading & Spelling Inventory is a one-on-one assessment used at Illuminations to determine exactly where a student’s reading, spelling, and writing skills are performing compared to grade-level expectations. During a live session with a trained therapist, students complete targeted tasks that allow us to identify strengths, pinpoint skill gaps, and provide clear recommendations for instruction, therapy, or additional evaluation.
Families receive a written report explaining the results in easy-to-understand language, along with guidance based on science-of-reading principles to help determine the best next step for their child. This inventory is often the first step for families who want clear answers before beginning dyslexia therapy or structured literacy intervention.
